RES/CON is evolving into the premier annual international conference on the practice of successful resilience and disaster management in an evolving global environment.  Held annually in New Orleans – a globally recognized hub of resilience, disaster management and innovation — this 3-day conference brings together a great mix of attendees including resilience practitioners, disaster-management experts, policy-makers, community leaders, governmental leadership, the private sector and academia to explore profound and powerful topics that impact communities and economies worldwide.


RES/CON affords students the opportunity to learn from global leaders, connect with mentors in key sectors relating to resiliency and disaster management, and will aid in identifying career paths and areas for engagement in the short and long-term. Are you a Louisiana student attending a local university full-time within a geospatial program?  Would you like the chance to attend a GIS conference to experience what real-world GIS professionals do through Esri technical sessions, User Presentations, networking in an Exhibitor Hall, and competing in a Map Gallery.  Former UNO Transportation Institute Graduate Research Associate  and  2016 Urban Studies Ph.D. Scholar Kyle Griffith was hired by Leeds University Business School to work on a diversity and inclusion research project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).  This study will address issues such as inclusivity and retention, career success, career development and promotion and the intersectionality of protected characteristics.
